From Saturday at the new Amazon exhibit at Metro Zoo. This I think is one of the largest Humming birds.
Had to crop because the rest of his body was behind some branches.

    Nikon D3, 300mm F4 w/1.7tc and 12mm ext tube @500mm, F6.7, 1/500, ISO 400, Manual mode

Hi Oz - think I agree with Denise - Would go tighter - love the BG - but not crazy about the OOF perch snaking its way through the image.
Hard work at a ZOO to get good images :)

    Hi Oscar,
This is a difficult capture...agree on cropping tighter...I like the sharp details, would selective sharpen the eye a tad more...

    Hi Os;car:

Have never seen that Hummingbird before, so I went to the Amazon exhibit at the Miami Zoo, lovely website, and saw the same bird on the same perch, Flicker link, but, alas, no identification.

Tough birds to crop with that long beak, hard to say what would look most artistic. Your photo is very pleasing, and suggested comments would be an improvement.

    Thanks for sharing
