Dan, what a colourful bird this one is!

On my monitor it does a tad out of focus around the head. I would have given it more space to the left and the cropped it tighter at the top. There's plenty of details and good eye contact but the picture lacks punch. Perhaps a little more on the contrast may help.

Lovely bird, great colors and background.
A bit tight on the left and bottom for my taste and wish for a little less of a head turn.

Amazing colours and nice eye contact. BG works well. I agree with adding a bit more room on the left . Burning in the perch to darken it a bit may be an option. The main problem is softness - not sure if a big crop is contributing or whether the 1/250 was a bit slow for the 1120mm focal length equivalent.

Amazing colours. Ditto head sharpness. It also feel to me that it needs just a bit more canvas in front of the bird.

Def. a little soft all over the bird but esp. the eye/head region.
Colour and light fine, bg very nice creamy green bokeh.
Composition wise - more room to the left of the bird needed for me.
A little less head angle for perfect but that's being a bit picky.

The bird is a bit tight in the frame, more room at the left would be great. I like the birds pose and Bg but the lack of sharpness can not be fixed :-(

Beautiful bird and fine composition, easily improved with a little sharpening.

One thing needs a little more attention, though. There's a blue broder around the crown of the head that is lighter than the rest of the head. Not sure what caused that (masking?), but I'd fix it.

I agree it is too large in the frame. The "soft" fine details have the look of a large crop - there is no evidence of subject or equipment shake. I also agree on toning down the perch. A very beautiful subject that you share with us that for the moment I can only dream of seeing. I like your dark BG to go with this guy's amazing plumage colours.
