    Nicholas,

I think you have done a great job here. The detail in the feathers is excellent, sharpness and exposure are right on. The pose and eye contact are very good. I love your perch and smooth BG and the way you have framed the bird. The raised tail shows an interesting behavior. Everything is perfect for me, I have no improvements to suggest. Congratulations on your image.

    Lovely wren.
Love the cocked tail and sharpness achieved. BG is also great.

Congrats on getting this guy in the open!
Lovely background and great tail position.
A bit tight all around for my taste and wish for just a tiny bit more of a head turn toward the viewer.

Lovely sharpness, BG, light and great wren pose with the cocked tail. Crop as presented works well for me. Interesting texture to the perch. Good flash use - maybe a little less -EC on the flash would have opened up the shadow on the back a little more. Well done.

Very nicely done Nicolas. Great pose, sideways and nothing in the bg. Good for you. Looks like the wren may have been getting some nesting materials. Dave

Very good job with this little guy. I love the composition, the raised tail and the fantastic rendering of the eye (really good). Perch and Bg are vey nice and I only suggest to add another round of noise reduction to the BG.

I prefer the comp on your second image - I wouldn't mind seeing the first with the same comp. If you do like the horizontal I would keep the same general placement within the frame but give it a looser crop all around. Super BG. I love these guys (and their metallic song) and look forward in photographing them again soon.
