I believe ring billed juvenile......not the sharpest overall, but personally
liked the forward wing position and the bill isolation against bg.
A bit bright on top back, but there is little color there anyway.

    MkIIN, 400mm, ISO 800, 1/1000, f/6.3
Thanks for looking and continued c/c

Well done with a good self-critique. I too love the wing position. Darkening the pupil and lightening the iris a bit would give it some more pop. This bird, with its grey saddle, is actually in first winter plumage. The wing coverts, scapulars, and flight feathers are all juvenal feathers, the grey feathers new molt.

Nicely done Dave. Not sure if I am seeing noise in bg and forward wing position or not. BG really works well with the bird. Very nice comp. Dave

Hi Dave, you have said it all.
I like the comp here and the BG colour. (what is the BG?)
I see just a bit of a halo below the bird bill and neck that can be sorted.

Dave, super flying posture, and love the forward extended wings. Well exposed, with good detail.

I like the bird´s pose a lot and the great eye contact. The image looks a bit flat in my monitor and I think that a touch of contrast boosting would produce a nice result.

Nice pose. I especially like the sweeping line of the far wing.
