This is a common species that can be found on the Caribbean side of CR as well as on the Pacific side.

Here I waited until this guy showed his face on top of the leaf.:D

Juan, I don't think he could be any cuter! Your being patient got you a winning pose!

Two things: I wonder if you could cut the glare on the leaf just a bit - maybe bring the high tones down a bit? I'd also look at lightening the eye just a little...let us really see the colors and pop it has.

Juan, That is one cool looking eye! I love the peeking over the leaf look and agree w/ Julie to lighten the eye. Very neat!

    Hi Juan,
Another vote to lighten the eye. I may have preferred a hair more DOF.....but still way to be patient!

Juan this is a very neat photo. I like it a lot. I wonder is a bit off the top would help at all. Dave

Very nice Juan! I like the lighting although there are some bright areas. I agree that a little off the top seems to improve the comp. We missed this species while in CR, I hope to return and will try again!:p

Love the peekaboo pose Juan Carlos. Another vote for lightening the eye a little.

    Juan Carlos:

Very nice frog with wonderful eyes. I too was bothered by the brightness of the leaf, it distracts from the great frog. I toned down the leaf and brought up the eyes just a bit.

    Just an option for you.

    Hey Randy!

Thank you so much for your work and version! I was just ready to upload my version when I saw yours, I think you did pretty good on the eye, but the leaf looks a bit odd for me. Any ways, I thank you so much for your input.

    Juan Carlos:

Well, be sure to upload your version!! I haven't seen the leaf in person, and tried to adjust/minimize its impact c/w the frog, so certainly may have gone too far.
