    Okay I'm a copycat here. I can't take credit for this technique as it was first done by Jules, which was a great looking red flower that made the front cover here at BPN.

    Fuji S5, Tamron 90, F/3.5, used the zoom tool in PS radial blur section for the effect.

    This is so funny, Mike...I just came indoors from shooting that exact same species! I never even thought to do the 'bellybutton' technique on it! This is marvelous! Love the way the petals all blend together. It looks like a fine silk print.

    Mike,

    Love this effect. This is a very graphic image full of sharpness where you want it and oh what color. Jules effect works well for this wonderful flower closeup...

    Hey Mike,
    Oh yeah! I have a few different colors of this one and thanks for reminding me of Julie's effect. Sweet!
