I used the watercolor filter on the canvas except the hummingbird... For the name and the chop, I used the website Denise mentioned on the note for this week's theme... Hope you like it. C&C welcome.

Very nice Indranil! Improvements (IMO) would be to increase the size of your chop and calligarphy a bit (not too much), and increase the intensity of the blacks throughout the whole piece. Black is a very important element in Chinese art (don't ask me way, this is what I have been taught!). Your chop is nice and simple but I would like to see the calligarphy within it transparent, showing the BG color though. FYI, A chop is a relief carving in stone usually, and is dipped in red oily ink and stamped on the piece. Your white letters are not consistent with this method, as they should be the same color/texture as your canvas and this of course works better with a white or very light canvas. You could apply the chop to a seperate layer on top of your piece and then erase the white of the letters, allowing the BG layer to show through. This "chop layer" method also comes in handy if you want to vary the intensity of the red in the chop.

Indranil, I think this is lovely! I really like the use of the watercolor filter on canvas! Does look like a painting! We are all quite lucky to have Dan's training in Chinese art to guide us. I will keep in mind his tips on the chop when composing mine!! Nice work Indranil-Look forward to more!

Dan, just as Denise said, thank you for the guidance on Chinese art. Here is a repost with your suggestions...
