This Tufted Titmouse was about to be blown off its perch. An ordinary bird, but I liked its look.

Interesting pose with the raised foot and ruffled feathers. The catchlight in the eye looks a little unusual. BG is lovely.

Ordianry bird for you, but for us north of its usual range this is a bird we'd love to see and photograph :-) Funny pose, but it has turned its head back a wee bit too much.

    Dick,

I like the color and detail. Like the way you got in so tight.
    Thanks for sharing...

    Dick:

Agree with the other folks on the technicals.

I think part of the HA effect is caused by the perch angling away from us on the left end.

Tony noted the somewhat odd catchlight. Did you do any work on it?

The foot up makes it for me.

I love the ruffled feathers! The foot up and the head turned really makes you feel like he's taking a good stretch and that implied motion really makes the image for me. I think if you had been a bit more to your left you would have gotten the perfect HA and the perch would have been more within the focal plane but no doubt you had no time to make that little correction. I still love how clear and detailed the bird is!

I like the raised foot and eye contact. Adding to the other comments, there is a slight magenta cast.

Thank you all for the coments. Regarding the catchlight, I forgot to include in the technicals that fill flash was used. As a result of the reflected light from the light gray sky and the flash, there were 2 white catchlights and a small blue spot and I tired to cut them back to something that looked reasonable. One choice would have been keep only the the small, bright flash reflection, but I decided instead to go with the sky reflection and just reduce its size. I'll try something different next time. Thanks for pointing it out.

Cool pose with the ruffled feathers, and raised foot. I like the softer colours on him, and stands out nicely against a great OOF BG.
