    Ardsdel,
Nice pose and the bird looks sharp. I see a dark halo around the birds head, back and tail. thanks for sharing.

Well composed with excellent detail Arsdel. I am not sure what the halo is as mentioned by Dick. Was there some cloning that provided this as it is not a halo from S/H. Beautiful clean BG and I would be tempted to tone down the end of the perch as it looks slightly hot on my monitor. Many thanks for sharing.

Nice pose and composition. However, it looks as though you smoothed out the background tones which left the dark halo around the bird mentioned above, but this is an easy fix. Agree with Judy Lynn that the end of the perch is a little hot.

I like the pose and the sharpness as well as the sense of depth in the background. I notice that many use an ISO of 400. Is this the norm?

Nice pose and detail. Agree that the halo looks like a artifact from blurring the BG. Masking sharpening off teh perch and burning in the pale tip may be an option. Maria - ISO 400 is a good starting point as it is pretty clean on newer cameras and gives more flexibility with SS or aperture for DOF.

    Tony,
thank you for that information about the ISO.I am fairly new at this and still trying to learn how to best go about it. If it's sunny today I will try using that out.
