    I took this sometime back. Settings were -

    40D, Sigma 50-500mm @ 500mm
    1/640 sec, f/8 Mode: Av Metering: Evaluative Exp comp: +2/3 ISO: 400

    Removed background noise and applied usm. Your feedback would be appreciated...

    The bird is a bit centered to my taste, much better if you add room (in the case that you have it, of course) at the bottom and left in order to place the trush towards the upper right corner. The light is a bit harsh to my taste but you got a very neat eye contact :-)

    Nice catch! A head trun would have been nice and I would de-saturate the sky some.

    The repost crop is much better. The head is just slightly turned away and I also would desaturate the sky.

    Lovely pose, and like the detail on him. The re comp looks great, and I feel the sky was fine in your original.
