Default Grey and Buff Woodie from Borneo

This was taken from the canopy walk of the Rainforest Discovery Centre in Sepilok, Sabah in Malaysia. It was at eye level so a bonus.

It had been wet all day until mid afternoon when the sun came through. The lighting was a little harsh but made for contrasty colours.

Very sharp Phil for 1/60th. I also like the pose. Well done. Dave

Fantastic sharpness for 1/60th and 840mm focal lenght Phil. I like the composition, soft light, BG and perch. I wish for more eye contact and better details on the image (it looks highly croped or lacking details). Another round of selective noise reduction to the Bg would improve the image. Very cool species, by the way. Keep them coming :-)

What a wonderful capture. I have not seen this species before. Nice pose, and I like the head angle. Interesting texture on the wood adds a lot of interest, and the background is lovely. Well done!

Hi all, thanks for your comments. Yes, I reckon just a little too much USM on my part. It was a great little bird being at the right place at the right time. There are still lots to come!
