You caught a great pose and the food morsel and reflection are nice bonuses.
Nice comp and good job on the exposure in what looks to have been somewhat harsh light.
The reflection looks a bit washed out for some reason?

Looking forward to making it up there this weekend!

Love the walking pose, light seems a bit hasrsh but exposure looks very good IMO, love the comp and reflection although I wish that you could've gotten lower to improve BG.
    Congratulations!

    Thanks for the comments.

Yes the light was a bit harsh but the water acted as a reflector.
Could not go any lower what you see is a ridge behind the Plover as he was working a gully at low tide and the edge of the ridge is about 2 feet higher than the bird

I like the composition a lot and the food on the opened beak is a big bonus but the image looks a bit flat in my monitor, perhaps some contrast boost may improve the result.

Good composition and the pose with the prey item is great. I think you photographed this from a good perspective...had you gotten lower, you would have lost the reflection.
