I like the stare and eye contact. The light looks a bit harsh and I found the OOF blade of grass in front of chest and head a bit distracting.

Pretty intense stare! In addition to what Axel said, I would add that the OOF stuff in the FG is a little distracting (not just the 2 blades of grass). Maybe if you blurred it a little more.

Ditto the above. Plus, a bit too contrasty--the browns are too dense (dark). And I am betting that the yellow of the eyes is burned. See the thread on saving yellow highlights in Educational Resources.

Cool stare. I would crop a big chunk from the bottom and then do some work on the eyes.

I like it as presented, agree about the contrast, but it doesn't look bad at all, BG and FG are such a plus IMO. Congratulations!

This was taken around 6.00pm in late afternoon setting sun?

    Appreciate the comments everyone.

Cute direct stare and nice low perspective. I like the oof foreground, but perhaps less of it. Do wish the green grass blade on the chest had not been there. The darks need to be lightened a bit, and the eyes look washed out. Artie's has directed you to the article on saving the yellow highlights.
