Was finally able to go out and get some photography done.
Spent most of the morning looking for Warblers which did not turn up much Photo wise so I headed down to the State Beach at Plum Island to scout out the Pipping Plovers

John, I like your idea very much and especially like the distant horizon that gives me a sense of distance and isolation of the plover.
Small subjects work out better if closer to a corner, so here's my version, hope you don't mind, whit another round of sharpening to the subject.
Nice idea, and Fabs repost improves the image. The one thing that bothers me is the lack of detail in the whites. The angle doesn't seem very low for lying in the sand.
I see and respect what Fabs says here in regards to the horizon line (and her repositioning of the bird tighter in the corner works wonders), but for me the "isolation" works better when cropped to eliminate that blue sky at top. Having said this I still like this version with the horizon showing...just a different "feeling".
I love the concept and the inclusion of the strip of the ocean but Fabs stole my crop. Good HA and good EXP in rather harsh light. Losing the remaining black spec near the bottom would make the image a bit better.
