Hi, There was a thread on the POTN regarding this screen. I was wondering whether anyone was using this type screen, or a different screen
from standard screen? If so, what screen and why? Thanks, Cheers,

I have been using this screen since I bought the camera (Jan). I do set the Custom Function so the camera "knows" that screen is being used. For landscape photos, the screen makes it easier to align the horizon level or be vertical for waterfalls. For birds and wildlife, the screen allows you to align the horizon level without taking your eye off your subject. I do have a double bubble level that I can mount in the hot shoe. But I have to remove my eye from the viewfinder to see it. I have been using these type of screens for 8 years now. Great tool!
Don,
Do you still see the rectangles for the AF focusing points with the Eg-D? I like the grid but still want the focus points to show. Also, it would be nice if the grid were on the rule of thirds lines but that does not appear to be so, correct?
Looks like the Rule of Thirds vertically but not horizontally.

Hi, finally received the new focusing screen. The lines are faint; however not too faint - just enough! Yes, you can see all of the AF points; in fact the lines break at the AF points.
I would definitely put this screen on all bodies in the future. Certainly makes squaring to the subject much much easier.
Remember, if you change the screen you have to educate your camera; 5D2 = Cf IV-5-1.
Now, wouldn't it be nice if Canon used some proactive thinking and made the lines and at least some of the AF points coincide with the Rule of Thirds? Asking too much, huh!
