I like the image . . . and that the robin is not over-saturated. How did you get the lovely green background?

    Hi Lady Denise,
I like the composition, image and close up capture. You have a nice catch light and the worm is a bonus...good show...

Stunning head shot, Denise! Excellent HA and BG. I think the eye could use a bit of sharpening as it looks a little soft.

Thanks guys-I didn't sharpen the eye at all, I masked around it. But will consider giving it a round. The green is the grass I was on the ground as low as my wimberley arm would allow.

Fun capture, Denise and maybe lighten the eye a little along with eye sharpening...the mask explains it as the rest of the bird is sharp; I do like that bg.

Lovely image Denise !!! Got to love that bg and the up close look !!

Only suggestion I have is in the tech info Would stop down more and increase ISO if needed !! At this range dof is just about zero !!! Big Congrats !!!

    d,..

Love the Robin, one of my favorites. This looks like a male, unless the breast colors were juiced. I think the 500MM is a 4.0 and with the TC you max out at 5.6 correct?

I like Katie's advise, might lighted the eye a tad. Love your work and thanks for showing us this Robin. A hard working bird that often avoids the spotlight.

Thanks everyone for your input-I'm working on a new formula for sharpening and wanted some feed-back. I sharpened in lab-mode w/ different USM settings than usual and this was a large crop. Here is the image I settled on.

Denise, I like the original crop but the repost's colours and eye are super!
