The perch looks very natural and that is something I like a lot because the image still has a clean feel. Trrific BG, nice pose, light, colors, detail and head angle! Congratulations!

I like the exposure control, setting and details and wish for a bit more eye contact.

Great look-back pose, excellent BG, and I like the ondulating pair of branches that cross ech other at right edge. I'm not really fond of the trio of thinner red branches (and their associated sprouts) in bottom part of image though. I find the diagonal branch quite close to the head but I also do find that those two at ULC offer nice balance to the comp. A small additional dose of sharpneing would really bring out the details in the Jay's beautiful plumage. Well done Mike!

Mike, You have a gorgeous BG here and the colors are beautiful. In a perfect world, I would prefer the picture without the two branches across the top, and I do believe they would be quite easy to remove. I agree on a bit more sharpening (need to take my own advice more often). It the top branches weren't so close to the head, I think I would feel differently. Thank you for sharing.

Lovely BG and head turn, only wish the branch was not so close to his head. Great avdise given above. Thanks for sharing this one, Mike!

Other than above, I'd add that it is quite interesting choice
of crop and subject placement in the frame.
You managed to get a nice one out of a busy image,
    very well done...

Super pose, and I like the overall colours in this. Nothing much you can do with the branch above his head, but I would take a bit off the bottom.

Well done with lots of good comments above to which I would add: the perfect head angle for the over the shoulder pose is almost always square to the imaging sensor.... This bird has its head turned a bit too much towards you.
