    Default Loch Assynt dawn



    From a recent trip to NW Scotland - an sunrise view of Loch Assynt and Ardverk Castle.

    Technical: Canon 1Ds Mk3, Canon 16-35 Mk2, focal length 17mm f/16, 1/50, 0 EV, ISO 200, AV mode,

    C&C always welcome.

    Hey Tom,
    Very strong composition and very well exposed also. I like the way the sunburst balances with the rock formation and that is also a wonderful sky. I don't remember if you were ok with cloning....but if you are....the RH corner rock should go. I tried it with a crop......but like the grass mound just to the left of it and a crop would cut into that. Very nicely done.

    Hi Roman

    Appreciate your comments and suggestions. I had done a version without the RG rock:



    For me it doesn't work as well as I feel that this edit looses too much of the loch area on the LH but I feel that personal taste on this point is always going to be subjective.

    Yep......didn't like it.....here it is with the clone......could also do a bit of heling brush on it.

    Agree with Roman that the rock doesn't help the image. Nice comp with interesting sky...

    Thanks for your comments Dave. What I liked about that RH rock was that it had caught some sun rays which complemented the rays on the castle tower.
