    2 male Ring-necked Pheasants getting to grips over a female that was off to one side in a local orchard recently.

    D300, Nikon 80-400 at 200mm., handheld from car, ISO 400, 1/1000, f/5.3, pattern metering.

    Lovely colors here, nice interaction. The whites on the neck are a bit blown. The pano crop works for this.

    In a perfect world, better head angle on the left bird would have been nice. From a story telling standpoint, if the female was in the background, would have told the entire story!

    Agree with Randy's comment about head angle, I also think that if you could've gotten lower, BG would be much better. Still, I love the interaction, poses, light, colors, and detail. Congratulations!

    Interesting interaction, good soft light and details. Could you have moved a bit to your right for a better head angle? If you have I would give it more room on the left to include the entire tail.
