    I photographed this bird in Texas a few weeks ago. Not sure of the ident. Anyone know?

    your standard female red winged blackbird. They love to pose with legs spread like this.

    May be a young male, as I see a bit of red shoulder/wing, but looks like a female

    Agree, female Red-winged Blackbird. The females show some brick-red in the wing- actually the hand area, although they look like shoulders and are called "epaulets".
