    Photographed in Lucerne, Switzerland two weeks ago. I'm not sure of his name. Canon Eos 1D Mark III, F500F4L IS, F5.6, Iso 400/ 1/100 sec Manual Mode

    That is some lovely plumage! Having never seen this duck, I can't tell if this is a bit over-saturated, or if the plumage is actually that intense. This image is a bit tight in the frame, and could use more space all around. The angle could also be lower, and I am not sure if I like the pose or not.

    Just doesn't look right to me -- the back half of the duck is OOF and the colors just don't seem to go with the front half. I wonder what a portrait shot would look like?

    I think it is a pochard. Good details and soft light, I agree regarding more room and less saturation.

    Lovely detail on the head, and agree more room would work.

    A very nice bird. This is, what in Swedish is called redheaded duck, it's a rather rare one. I photographed it a few days ago, Saturday or Friday a week ago, for the first time ever. I'll post it tomorrow.
