Going thru my files I found this image from one of my trips to the Puna in Jujuy, Argentina, a trip that was made entirely to photogrpah this species of lapwing, the Andean Lapwing, I was lucky enought to get some nice images of the parent and the newly born chick. with the morning first lights. Hope you like it!

    Ramon:

Lovely colors, touching interaction, nice exposure, sharp.

Perhaps a tiny bit more room on the left if you have it.

I find the reflection in the parents eye a bit bright, and might tone it down just a bit. Minor point.

Very sweet, glad you found it again and shared it with us.

    Ramon:

Just a quick effort at toning down the reflection in the parent's eye. I find it a little less distracting , and highlights the nice color.

    Just an option.

Thanks Randy, I'll keep you suggestions in mind, I don't have more room as this is the full frame, I was able to get preety close as I got there before sunrise and located myself near the nest waiting for the sun to come out, good thing the parent didn't mind much me being there so close :) Again, thanks!

Ps: Yes, it looks better, I would go somewhere in between yours and mine :) Thanks for taking the time to do it, I apreciate it!

Wonderful light, low angle, and interaction here. The repost is even better. The only nit I can find (really pushing it here) is the OOF twig at the bottom of the frame.

    Well Done!

Aidan, I completely agree with you about the twig, but as this was a nest I was not going to get that close to touch anything :) Still, thanks for you comment and critique, again, I agree.

    Hi Ramon,

Terrific low angle, exposure, DOF and colors. The chick pose is fantastic. The twig is not strong enough to distract from your main subject. I would leave this image as presented.

    Excellent work!

Really really nice. Love the intimate scene. I am fine with the composition. Only thing that bothers me a little bit is the 2 highlights of grass behind the head of the adult. The detail is great in this. Well done.

An outstanding image, Ramon - as were the others in this series. The sharpness, exposure, colors, head angles, and the interaction itself are all first rate. A few very minor critiques have already been touched on above.

I remember the previous images of these birds and think this crop works really well. I like the mood, details, light and angle.

    Hola Ramon!

First of all let me congratulate. This is a really nice picture.

Then, how can you get such a sharp image with a 2X teleconverter? Is this the ''new'' 2X II?

Nice angle and interaction. Colors and detail look real good. I also like the comp you chose and the open beak.

Sweet light, and this is amazingly sharp. I like the detail and colours in this, and how the chick is cuddling up to the parent. Congrats.

Juan Carlos, this was a sigma 70-200mm 2.8 + tc2x, it is very sharp because I was preety close to the subject, when I had this lens I noticed that it was not sharp when the birds were not close enough :)

Ramon, this capture is outstanding. The crop works extremely well, and I have no problems with the nesting materials. They add to the story. Either eye works for me. The intimacy you have captured here is priceless. Thank you for sharing this gem!
