    Back at the Alewife run this AM. Still cutting off wings!! 1dmk3 on 500 f4 on BushHawk at iso400, 1/1000, f6.3, manual exp., AIservo - Bob

    Explosive action, love the spray, nice timing.

    I am OK with the wings, because it really focuses on the action, the capture, spray, etc.

    Nice exposure. The eye doesn't seem quite as sharp as the beak, there may be spray blocking it. I would sharpen the eye selectively. If you have a bit more canvas below and in front, that would be nice.

    I would try and lighten the underwing area a bit.

    Love the action and water spray. I like the tight comp. As Randy mentioned the eye isn't quite as sharp as it could be, and I also wish for more DOF

    Well done overall, and looking forward to more.

    As the guys said above, the action is killer (specially for the fish LOL) Nice tight comp and good timing. Critiques and comment above already mentioned what I was going to say. So just.. congratulations!

    I guess it's the problem of prime lenses :)

    Personally, I would crop it even tighter to put more focus on the head, the look and the fish. Like the exposure and the timing and also think the eye could use some more sharpening.

    nothing to add but GREAT SHOT .I try for these every chance I get the last 3 times they give me their back to shoot :confused:
