Tri colored Heron preening at the Farm, I found this patch of clean BG and worked for all it's worth :) The breeding colors were peak at the time and they seemed to be ruffled all the time.

Super pose, eye still visible, and with the angle of the head, I like the jutting crest. Good light and detail, and what a great BG. Well captured Fabs.

Sharp where it needs to be. And a very nice pose. BG is perfect.

The tri coloured heron can be just this lovely in breading time. And I like the wild look it can have, I mean with "the hair" etcetera. Good croping and nice composition.

Great angle of view. Did you have to crawl around to get this, or did you get lucky? Super image. ;)

Very nice, Fabs. I know you worked hard to get that background. The pose is unusual and that makes it more interesting, and the comp. is beautiful. Super image.

Usually don't like square crops, but it works well here. Excellent comp and BG.

Love the crop and comp here Fabs. The color combo here is great as well. It may not be totally natural looking but since your photos are a bit more artistic, I would make that eye pop some more.

Lovely colors and background, Fabs. Good sharpness overall and the white plumes pointing into the URC make the image for me.

I really like the lines/curves of the feathers in this image. Colors go really well together too. Not a nit but I did notice it as I thought it was my screen, but what is that little circle on the 8 o'clock line from the eye?

It took me a while to find the circle, but I did. No idea what it is and it's in the original
