Default Mr. Green Heron says 'Pura Vida!'

This Green Heron was photographed on a boat trip up the Tarcoles River during my recent Costa Rica tour. Pura vida is a common greeting in Costa Rica meaning 'going great!' or 'this is living!'

He seems to be having a good time!
Nicely exposed, the flash looks as main light rather than fill judging by the dark BG.
Glad you had a good time!

Amazingly sharp Doug, showing brilliant detail. Well exposed with your flashwork, and I like the show of his tongue. Well captured.

I am not to fond of dark Backgrounds, still, the light, colors, moment, detail, and aproach are amazing! Congratulaitons!

Great details and the open bill makes this one for me.

Nice details, and the open bill is a big plus. I love the dark BG, and might tone down the OOF twigs a bit to match the rest of the BG

Hey Doug this heron is Pura Vida!

Very healthy looking bird, I would suggest to burn the orange silhouettes just to get a uniform BG, but that is just minor.

    Doug,

Wonderful behavior and color. The open bills put it over the top...
