    Captured at the beach near Ventura Harbor. Did some pruning of the vegetation and the usual curves, H/S, sharpening, etc. Lightened the eye a bit also.

    50D, EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS + 1.4x @ 280mm
    Aperture priority, f/7.1@1/640, evaluative metering EC -2/3 ISO 800 AWB
    AI Servo autofocus, HH, no flash

    A good portrait. I guess you used AI Servo because you were shooting flight shots. It's nice to see the feathers, even though that looks a little bit unnaturally bright. As I rarely have photographede the Turkey Vulture I don't remember how they look exactly.

    I agree on the bird being a bot lighter than they look, although this could be caused by the warm light shinning on him. Nicely placed in the frame.

    A bit more NR and this one would look even better IMO, nice soft light, lovely level of detail, nice colors, BG and pose! Congratulaitons!
