    After 24 straight days with rain, I finally had a chance to get out on the way to work. The columbine was still blooming -- I took a bunch of shots but this was the only one I liked, mostly because of the dark background. C and C welcome.

    I really like the flower and the BG in this mike but the part of the plant on the right side of the frame is so OOF and random that it feels distracting to me. If the bottom bloom were gone and the front part was more in focus I would agree that they add to the image. As presented, I don't think they really compliment the flower all that much. It's surely just my opinion but I'd consider cropping down to just the one bloom and stem and letting it speak for itself.

    Hey Mike, to bad about all the rain, I like the comp, good details on the flower and nice looking BG.

    Here's the other version of the same photo. I applied a little blurring to the edge also. This on focuses your attention on the flower, but seems a bit boring to me...
