Default CS3 turning blues to purple

Hi Floks, when I open an image in CS3 now all blues are a deep purple regardless of format. They are fine in Breeze Browser. Seems like it is directly related to photoshop. Any help really appreciated.
    Thanks Dan

    Hi Dan,
    What operating system?
Did you recently change anything, like install something new like calibration software?

    Hey Roger,
Windows XP and no recent changes or installations. I do have the Spyder 3 calibration software installed but haven't used it in about 3 months.

    Dan,
A possible cause is you have two color management systems running. For example, if the spyder software and adobe gamma were both running. Or perhaps the the monitor hardware is set to a different color space then what your software is using for the color space. In photoshop, be sure you are not in proof colors in CMYK or something like that.
    - just some ideas to check.

Thanks Peter and Roger--in Color management I had preserve embedded profiles, swithced it to convert to working RGB and bingo I'm back in business. Really appreciate the suggestions as I had exceeded my limits here.
