I've been planning this shot for some time and finally had an opportunity to do something about it as the fog was lifting the other day. This was captured as a 3 exposure HDR image with a 2 stop bracket. The image was tone mapped in Photomatix and then imported to Lightroom where I increased the blacks and the clarity just a bit. My problem is that I also did a version that is much softer and can't decide which I like better. I'll post the sharp version to get some thoughts.

Thanks Denise. And here is the softer version achieved by simply backing off the clarity and reducing the vibrance from the original image. Interested to see what everyone thinks presents better. I suppose it would depend a lot on where it is being shown.

Hi Dave, I like the second one a lot. To me it has more atmosphere/character and I like the softness of it. Nice HDR work too, not overdone.

Dave, I like them both-if I had to choose I would go for door #1. Like the extra feel of depth to it! I really like the color palette.

    Hi Dave,

I like them both. If they were mine and I were going to print one, it would depend on wehre I was going to display it before I could decide on which one. Good for you to see the scene. Dave

Thanks everybody. I agree that it is all in where it will be displayed. I'll keep both files and make my decision based on the show or competition as needed
