    This garganey, the third provincial record, showed up at Quidi Vidi lake in St. John's Newfoundland, stayed for a day and then moved to a marsh several km away but could then only be seen from a distance with a spotting scope.

    Taken with a sony a700 and a sigma 500 mm f 4.5 lens at f 6.3, 1/1250 s, +0.3 exp comp.

    nice exposure and good eye contact. might sharpen the eye just a tad. one thing i might wish for with this one is a lower capture angle. other than that, awesome!

    Hi Gene,
    A very fine capture indeed...I would take just a little off the top, to give more attention to your duck...It's a sweet image...I like it...agree on the selective sharpening of the eye...good show...:cool:

    I like the many and varied shades of the color brown . . . and carried over into the water, too. Very nice. Just a little off the top . . .

    Just the little of the top Really nice and one tough exposure Did very well with the whites and keeping shadow detail !!! Excellent !!!
