    Hello Everyone,
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Here is an interesting shot of a yellow warbler (female I think), that hit our window this morning. At first my wife thought that it had killed itself but I could still see it breathing. I had to get the ladder out and climb onto the shake roof at the front of our house to get it. I blew warm breath over it to keep it warm and then we heated some towels in the microwave for a bit and made a little bed for it in a plastic bucket. Luckily it hadn't broken its neck and everything seem to work after a while. I decided to get off a few shots and before long she climbed out of the bucket and flew away.

    Stats: Canon 50D, ISO 250, 18-85 f/4.5-5.6 at f/8, 1/40 sec. in natural light.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Steve:

Thanks for helping out this bird. It is a nice story. She might have done OK, but I suspect it is still pretty cool in your area, so shock could be a real issue.

I do think your background looks a bit artificial, but I think under the circumstances we can forgive that!

Thanks for posting the image and story.

    Randy

The picture needs your story. Your story needs that picture. Together they make a real winner. Nice work!

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your comments. I saw our friend later on in the afternoon with her mate and she seemed to be acting normally. They were both foraging for bugs in our apple tree so she was eating too. Quite an experience and a very beautiful little patient. I don't normally get a chance to get a shot off on one of these guys unless I sneak up on them let along hold one in my hand.

    Take care,

    Steve
