    Here's a different way of seeing flowers. I usually wait for the bloom before photographing. On this one I did not. Not sure how much I like it. The drops of water help. Probably too centered. Wish I had removed the bloom at bottom of stem.

    Canon 5D, 180 Sigma 180 mm f/ 3.5 APO EX DX macro with tripod.

    Charles, I really like this. I would like to see the flower tighter in the frame, though...maybe a bit off the top and left side? Really give it the punch it deserves.

    As for me, I like the bit in the corner by the stem...it's enough color to give you an idea of what is outside. I don't find it distracting at all.

    First, I like this very much as captured.
    Second, I agree with Julie.
    I have a similar image of a poppy bud, but your lighting is better.
    Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

    Hey Charles, I like the crop but also think Jules suggestion would work well also. Good details, color and BG.
