    this is a shot of a friend of mines goshawk,cannon 40d,400prime lens,hand held,1/6400 sec,f5.6,iso800,spotmetered.critics welcomed,good or bad.

    I like the details and eye contact. I would have selected a lower ISO, wider DOF and a more uniform BG would have been nice. As for composition, you could put the bird a bit further to the right in the frame.

    Excellent light, detail and colours in this. I would have gone for more DOF too, and agree to move him back a bit.

    I would only try to brighten the dark areas in the BG, other than that just.. wow! Superb! Congratulations!
