    Here's a tricolor posing for me. This guy was way to calm on this day. Tried to make noises to get him mad. Had to go with a straight profile. Did not try to tone down the BG. They drive me crazy at Alligator Farm. Some cropping on the image.

    Canon EOS-1D, EF 500 f/ 4.0 L, BB with 550 EX flash, and tripod with Wimberley. My exposure was 1/160 sec. @ f/ 8.0 ISO 320.

    Nice exposure and sharpness you achieved. I also like the subsued colours. Comp looks good, but perhaps a bit more at right can be cropped out. I you mention you did not try to tone down the the BG I would try to do something about the lines as they are rather distracting. Absolutely love the ruffled neck and rocker 'do :-)

    A very nice pose and the erect white crown feathers are something I haven't seen before. I would agree with a crop from the right - to get the head out of the center of the image and to remove the very dark background on the right edge.
