    Very nice Jeff !!!

I like how you waited for the bird to do something The slight puff and wing movement adds nicely to the image. Also like the complementing bg !!

Sharp well exposed and framed !!! Excellent image !!! ... btw I'm sure there might be suggestions of brightening the bird some and would not be bad ... I just like the overall tones which seem to mirror the day !!!

HI Jeff - I like this how it is - good HA and Eye contact and a nice pose, agree with AL not much to change here.
    Congrats.
Looking forward to seeing more :)

Great HA and eye contact Jeff. I also like it's perch how it goes from being oof to in focus and then back oof. Background is on too.
    Congrats,

Jeff, Lovely pose and details look good! I think the BG is a nice color tone.

Nice one Jeff. Love the pose and soft colors. The bg really sets off the colors of the bird nicely. How did you get -3 flash compensation with the 40D? My 50D only has +/- 2? I thought only the pro bodies had +/-3...

    Default Flash Comp

Kerry, I have a Canon 580 speedlight (I think) use it all the time and it has a TTL range (Hi Synch) of -3 to +3 on my 40D.

Jeff, I have the 580EX II also and totally missed that in the manual. Thank you! I have been setting the FEC on the camera and not the flash, and the camera is limited to +/- 2 stops. I now see that the setting on the flash will override the camera setting. Cool!

    Kerry,

While I was in my IPT two weeks ago with Al & Fabs my 580 hi-synch setting would not work? I accidentally dropped the flash on the deck (Alligator Farm) and it worked fine. So, if it every acts -up, just drop it (smile).
