    I was just about to call it a day; the light was fading, and here comes this Kildeer, walking into the last bright spot of sunlight. D200 plus 80-400mm VR @400mm. ISO 200; 1/160th @ f6.3.

    What kind of post processing did you do on this one? There looks to be some sort of diffused glow going on.

    The shadow is neat, but i wish the bird were turned just a hair toward the camera.

    Agree with Jim's assessment and would add .... hit the ground !!!! Would have been one sweet image at ground level Eliminates all the bg/fg and gives it a special look !!!!

    The glow is not from post processing - it's on my original raw capture. I agree totally that ground level would have been better for the BG and FG, but then I wouldn't have had the shadow, which for me was the main feature I was after in creating this image.

    I like the soft glow and the glint in the eye. The shadow is nice but I do agree the foreground is distracting.
