Not sure of all the details with this photo. It was taken on a windy day. I had no chose but to shoot in between the breeze. This botanical garden has too many different species of flowers. Wanted to get better isolation. It just did not happen.

    Canon EOS- 1D, EF 70- 200 mm f/ 4.0 L, 550 EX flash and a tripod.

I love Poppys and this is a lovely image! I like the colors and the composition very much just wish you had included the entire poppy bud on the bottom or maybe clone it out. The dof is beautiful!!

    Denise,

Here's a repost after cloning out the partial poppy bud at the bottom of the frame.

Very nice Charlie! I can't believe you got that DOF at f4! Wow!

The flowers and the comp are wonderful - especially with the removal of the poppy bud. I do wonder what's going on with the greens in this image - they almost look splotchy. Can't tell if it's artifacts from the jpeg compression or noise in the BG or posterization...any idea? Does it look like this in the original?

    Jules,

The blotches must be from jpeg compression. I worked on a jpg not from RAW today. Found and 8" by 11" print that looks really good. Please note this was not shot at f/ 4.0.

    Hope to find the RAW....

Hey Charles, this really has some pop to it, love the contrast and colors. Great details on the flowers. Clone looks better in the repost.
