Image created yesterday at Plymouth Long Beach wile standing waist deep in Cape Cod Bay (frigid water!). Conditions were fog with a little bit of sun burning through.

Nikon D300, 500 VR, TC14EII, ISO 800, UniWB preset, linear flat tone curve, +1.3 EV, SB800 with BB, Flash EV at -3.0.

Adjustments applied: Convert to Neutral in NX2, Tiff processed in CS3, cropped, levels, selective color, sharpening, save for web.

Note: At the recommendation of Alex and Aidan, I have re cropped with the subject on the left

I like the setting, soft light and details and would put the bird on the left side of the frame because of the direction of the head.

    Default Hmmm

I just gave your crop suggestion a quick try and personally I'm not sold on it simply because the head is then so far to the left hand side of the frame.

Maybe it will will grow on me and we'll see if anyone else feels that it would be better on the left.

    Thanks for the input :)

Nice soft light, and I like the flowing water. The placement of the bird in the frame is not ideal, and I would reccomend Axel's suggestion.

Nice bird! I like the repost! It seems to give the water somewhere to go? Very sharp, a little high key but I like it!

I like the repost much better and might crop a tad off the right but not much.

Never saw the original post but love the COMP here as well as the soft light and the bird which I have not yet captured on digital. Getting in the water can be a good thing. Wish that I had been right next to you, with my waders on of course.

I wish you had left the original to compare. Very nice light and the flowing water make for a very interesting background.
