Hi Glenn - sharp as a tack - like the pose, Good HA and eye contact and exposure looks good.
Would just lighten the eye and sharpen - you will get more detail out if it - with the iris being more visible.

Not crazy about the OOF area of the perch - but not much you could do about that.
    Good show!!

    Hi Glenn,
I like the composition, image and capture...I like the sharp fine details, the head angle and clear eye...The background compliments your subject quite well...

Lance i see what you mean about the OOF area of the perch , im gonna have to try and setup some perches to eliminate this .

Alfred it was HH with some side support from my deck :)

Jackie ,Harold, Denise, Gus thanks for your coments they are appreciated . Im really loving this new to me old lens even with the 1.4 TC . But it sure is heavy compared to what im use to .:)

    Glenn:
Agree with the other folks. I have posted a few of the female grosbeaks, and am quite fond of them.

I think if you cropped the image tighter and got rid a lot of the extra canvas at top, the out of focus perch would be much less bothersome.

I had a female that I cloned out the perch extending out of her back. It looked clean, but a bit fake, so try the simple thing first.
