    I love it when these pop up in my backyard...they are always a challenge to get them right with all the different florettes circling around the head. This one had only one florette out so I cheated and took it's picture instead. :D

    Canon 40D, EF100mm f/2.8
    f3.5 @ 1/50th, ISO 200
    Heavy shade, handheld, on-camera flash

    I really like the effect that the flash added to this picture. I recently upgraded from a Canon 20D to a 5D and I miss the on camera flash of the 20D. The 5D doesn't have one and I am still fumbling to learn good lighting techniques with a Speedlight 430EX.
