    Default Chipping Sparrow "wing twitch"

Same individual as my last post. Got lucky on my timing as this guy twitched its wings before hopping off the rock. I'm surprised it kept its head so steady when it did this as the relatively slow shutter speed was able to keep it sharp. Entertaining (and tame) little fellows to watch :)

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/6.3, ISO 640, +0.3 EC, natural light, handheld.

    Daniel:

Nice display of the wing motion, with good exposure, sharp eye and head. I like the crop, the perch colors are complimentary to the bird.

Axel would say there is some BG noise.

Thanks for sharing this guy. Maybe I will have to do another one too? I don't know if the forum could stand it!

    Cheers

    Randy

    Hi Daniel,

Love the blur on the wings. Would love to see a little more eye contact. I agree with Randy regarding removing more noise from the BG.

Daniel, well timed to capture the twitching wing, and I like the angle of the head towards you. Excellent detail and exposure on the chest, and with your relatively slow ss, the head looks good.

I like the angle, soft light, pose and composition, BG noise has been mentioned.
