Given the pose, I would leave the nest.
Amazing pose, very nice light and great exposure control, good level of detail, nice comp and colors! Congratulations!

The nest anchors the bird IMO. Wish you had some separation between the beak and the dark plumage. I would apply some additional sharpening to the bird and also brighten it a little. I would also play around with the sky color. Here's a repost.

I like the posture in this, showing the extended wings. I would leave the nest, as Doug says, it balances the comp. Doug's done a good job on the sharpening.

    Hello Paul!

I would not move the nest. As mentioned by Doug, it anchors the bird. Whatever he did to your image improved it even more.

    Love those talons.

Absolutely leave the nest there as it is an integral part of the image. Just enough of it visible without taking away from the image. I would only have preferred a better light angle, but I have to admit the "see-through" effect it created on the feathers is pretty cool. I like the sky colour of Doug's repost.

Leave the nest. Doug did a good job with the re-post but looks a little over sharpened.

An amazing post in that I agree with both Ramon (lose the nest) and with the poster above-the repost is over-sharpened. Love the posture. I would take some yellow out of the whites in Selective Color.
