This was taken in the Kruger National Park. We were driving from one camp to the other on one of the lesser roads when we came across these two lioness's and a cub. We were the only car there for at least half an hour before a park vehicle full of japanese tourists came along. We left. My own critique - tight at the bottom, and the BG is a tar road they were lying on. I like how the cub is alert, while the two lioness's just slept.

    Nice image of resting giants!
I would suggest cropping on the right all the way up to the snout of the background adult.
That would take care of a lot of the 'road' BG issue, and the image would still be nicely balanced, with the mother and cub weighting it to the left.

Nice bookends. Really like the pose of the three. Road mentioned but if it had been natural, you might not have gotten to see the face of the near lioness.

Good captures, I love the alert pose. It could go a bit lighter IMO. Thanks for sharing this one!

Love the alertness of the cub here. Tar doesnt bother but would be nice for it to be earth.
Agree with you Stu, a little more room at the bottom would be beneficial to this image. Awesome to have a sighting like this to yourself in the Kruger. Doesnt happen often.

    Stuart,
This is a nice scene. The alert cub between the two sleeping lioness forms a triangle. A little bit more space at the bottom would have been good. I don't like tar roads, however in this case the road appears muted and is not distracting. Overall, a nice image. Thanks for sharing.
