I love the feel that your low angle and shallow DOF give to the photo. The OOF strip in the sort of frames the duckling. You have a good pose here, head angle and eye contact are good. I also like the drop on the tip of the bill. Taking him out of the center also improves the composition. I would suggest adding a little head room. I get the impression that he is ducking the top of the frame.

Nice low angle and pose. I agree about adding a bit of canvas up top. I might sharpen the bird a little more. Thanks for posting!

    Jackie:

Very sweet. Like the pose, drip and soft light. The sharpness looks OK on my monitor, and I think the subject goes well with a bit softer look anyway.

Another vote for headroom, but just a touch.

Thanks for sharing this cute one!

Cute, and I like the low angle. Personally I would have chosen a slightly higher angle here to avoid the dark part in the upper-right, as I do find that part a bit disturbing. Perhaps you could darken your midtones a bit to give the photograph more depth, as it looks a bit flat.

I like the soft light and eye contact. While a low angle works almost always well, here a slightly higher angle would have helped to avoid the grass in the foreground partially cover the legs.
