    Default Reddish Egret

Captured at Ding Darling. late morning light, captured after all the Spoonbills had flown off. Got down as low as I could (without a snorkel anyway), and just tried to get some decent images of a Reddish before I left.

Canon 1DsMII, ef 600mm f/4, handheld (on ground), ISO 640, f/8, 1/800, Gel Circ. Pola to knock edge of the increasingly harsh light.

    Hey Bob,

Love the low angle, details and exposure. Looks like the horizon needs to be fix a little bid. Was this image captured recently? How was Ding?

    Take care![/quote]

This was mid-November. I haven't been out there much in January. It's been a disappointing year out there. I'm sure I'll run out (maybe even this weekend), but it has sure been hit or miss. I went out a bit looking for the Flamingo that was reported out there in December, but no luck.

I see what you mean about the horizon. Looks like about 1 degree CW should get it.

Great image, the reflection is not strong but adds to it.

Renate - Good to hear! I've had days this season where there were 10,000 birds, and the challenge was getting one isolated for a decent composition. Other days, you'd be lucky to see 10! Makes ya wonder where they can all hide on the quiet days :D
