    Default Chipping Sparrow on rock.

The trilling (or chipping) these guys make fills the neighbourhood air loud and clear at this time of year, and boy do they start early in the morning! No complaining from me:cool: Photographed this little fella on my front yard. I was at first tempted to pull out the stray grasses behind the rock but very glad I didn't. Audio used to lure it to this rock, which was brought back from the forest at the folks' cottage.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @275mm, 1/250s., f/6.3, ISO 640, +0.3 EC, natural light, handheld, just about full-frame.

    Daniel:

A very good looking sparrow. I like their color combination. Nice look back pose and composition.

Wow, an imported rock! I feel good just selecting good wooden perches, will have to up my game to include better rocks too!

I have one of this species that I might post tomorrow.

    Thanks for sharing.

Nice colors on this sparrow and I like the pose as he is looking right back at the camera. I might try cropping just a bit off the bottom - -the OOF part

Adorable little critter, with great EXp and good placement in the frame. Sharp as tack and nice catch light.

Very fine image, like the sharpness and composition
and how you treated the rock,
nice eye contact too. Perhaps I would get rid of the
    grass leaves on the RH.
    Congrats!

Superb pose Daniel, and you have exposed the little guy perfectly. Good light, colours and detail, and overall, nice and sharp. The grass doesnt distract, as I find his pose makes this for me.

Lovely composition, and I love the three blades of grass as they seem to add a delicate touch to the picture. Pleasing BG and really sharp.
