    Default Reflection

This is a Fulvous Duck. This image is more about the reflection, than the slight away angle of the duck. One needs near perfect conditions with no wind to capture a good reflection. The water was shot as is. Taken in Pretoria at one of the local spots. Added a slight bit of canvas at the bottom.

Good comp, and great reflection...wonder where you got the title :-) Just enough of a head turn too. The swimming away angle gives it the illusion of needing CW rotation. Love the clean look of this image.

I like it. The pose angle is different than the norm, thereby addiing interest in my view. I like the zero horizon as well, for generally the same reason.

    Stuart:

A beauty, about as good as reflection as you can get. Your shooting angle was right on, and the smooth water did the rest. Lovely colors in the bird, very nice. Yes, the bird is angling away, but the head itself is almost parallel to the image sensor, just like Artie likes it :)

    I wouldn't change a thing.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Hello Stuart!

    And what a treat!
Love the still water, warm colors of this duck and your careful composition.

I only wish to see this one a bit larger.

Oh how I wish for calm glass like waters like this when I'm out! Fantastic reflection!

This is a beauty. Well done, Stuart. You have covered the issues in your self-critique. Those feathers are stunning in that light.

Great light, calm water and good exposure control. It would have been even better with the bird swimming towards you.

Nicely done, Stuart, the head turn saves the fact that he's swimming away. Pristine environment adds a lot to the image.

Nice clean reflection. WIsh it was angled toward you but the head angle compensates nicely. Congrats! :)

Nice looking bird on a plain blue BG. Not much to comment on but I do like the simplicity. Amazing stillness and an incredible reflection. Nicely done.
