    I finally got a photo from our garden. Not fun limping around to get a floral photo but you got to do it.
    Used some diffusion of the light.

    Canon EOS- 1D, EF 100- 400 f4.5- 5.6 and tripod. Exposure was 1/400 sec. @ f/ 8.0 ISO 320. I feel its maybe too centered....

    Charlie, I have this same clematis (also blooming right now!) and it does leave you wondering what to do with the composition. It's such a square shaped flower that I often end up giving it a square crop.

    I like it as presented...might try to blur the BG even more to make the lighter and darker tones swirl together a little better but that's a minor thing. The diffused light is nice but think you could also increase the saturation a tad if you wanted a punchier image.

    Hey Charlie, very nice details on the flower, it looks like it floating in mid air. I agree on a little more blur on the BG to soften it.
