My first post to Avian! Captured at Cachuma Lake in southern California. I added canvas to the top and LHS for composition. I used a blue photo filter in PS to cool down the white-ish areas.

Welcome to "Avian" Kerry! Good decision to add canvas where you did, you've nicely balanced the comp. I wish for better wing position on the far wing, but do love the near one and all its' detail. Exposure looks right. There is a bit of a magenta cast on the bill. Well done Kerry, hope to see more from you in Avian :-)

Good work Kerry, you did great with the light situation,
excellent sharpness for hand-held, nicely positioned in the frame,
    good HA,
    I like it!

    Kerry -

    Very good first post.
Good detail, etc. Adding the canvas was a good thing I think.

The color cast mentioned by another may be more then just on the beak, may just look magenta and may be global. It is not a harsh one but I think it does exist through out the image and if you try an Adjustment Layer Color Balance and a play with the sliders you may see that.
There seems to be just a bit of dark artifact in the sky, above the head & between the wings.

Welcome to the avian section Kerry. I like the show of the nearer wing, with good detail. Adding canvas has improved the comp.

Pretty much agreed to the above comments. Would like to point out that there appears to be a hot spot in the nape area of the osprey. Overall, a job well done, Kerry !
