I wish this one was a whole lot better.. but it was taken at extreme range.. I was in a blind on an early spring Wisconsin Pond and these guys were NOT fooled.. they stayed on the FAR side... I shot anyway.. they are recognizable.. but not great.. still I loved the behavior...

Its a story teller. Is this courtship behavior?

Great pose of these synchronized swimmers! I do not know the size of your crop but I think that a panoramic crop with more room to the right would be even more striking. You could also run a nois reduction software if not already done, hard to tell on my monitor. You definitely captured the moment. Beautiful.

You've mentioned the flaws here, but it's still a cool image. THe best part is how the female is ignoring the antics of the males, despite their best attempts.

This is soooo cool, Kenn, did she end up accepting either one?

Agree on a pano presentation for more impact.

    thanks everyone...
maybe I can work it up a bit different and see how it comes out... but I know in my heart that it was just too far out to make it a great shot.. I had to crop to severly.. and that never helps....
fabs.. I never did see her accept either one.. and in fact there were a total of 4.. but the other two were in front of her a ways and fighting each other at the time....

Even with the distance Kenn the males are in a good pose. We see them here performing their courtship displays every winter but like you, they never let me get close to them.
